Lyman Wheelock, of Miami County, Ohio, was was born in Massachusetts (according to "History of Miami Co, OH", by Beers, 1880). Lyman appears in the 1850 Census for Miami Co, OH as follows (all children born in Ohio):

Mary, age 46, female
Henry, age 24, male
Rebecca, age 22, male
Lyman, age 18, male
Harriet, age 16, female
David, age 13, male
John, age 10, male
Daniel, age 7, male
This is the only Wheelock family on record in the Miami County 1850 Census.
Susan Wheelock, the oldest child in this family, married John Teague in 1846, and therefore does not appear in the 1850 Census.
There are records of land transactions involving Henry Wheelock and John Teague.
Probate Case #1932, Miami County, Ohio, shows that Lyman Wheelock distributed $972 of his estate to Lyman Wheelock, Henry Wheelock, Harriet Wheelock, Rebecca and Benjamin N. Langston [who recorded the vital records of this family in 1881 on Miami County Infirmary Stationery], John and Susan Teague, and Mary Wheelock. It also shows a schedule of property left to support his widow, Mary, and minor children Lyman Wheelock, Harriet Wheelock, Davis Wheelock, John Wheelock, and Daniel Wheelock. The probate records also show a bill of property sold by administrators of Lyman's estate (Henry Wheelock and Henry Fouts), dated 12 Dec 1850.
Many of the descendants of Lyman Wheelock and Mary Fouts are buried in the Wheelock Cemetery in West Milton, Ohio. Lyman's headstone, to be found in the aforesaid cemetery, reads as follows: "Our Father, Lyman Wheelock, and Native of Bristol Co, Mass, died Nov 21, 1850, aged 62 y's. 11D"
