Keziah Hunt
Father: John Hunt
Mother: Keziah Darling
Spouse: Daniel Wheelock
Marriage:
- W. L. G. Hunt, T. B. Wyman, Jr., Genealogy of the Name and Family of Hunt (Boston : John Wilson and Son, 1862-3), p. 232-3; online at Archive.org (https://archive.org/details/genealogyofnamef00wyma/page/232/mode/2up : accessed 3 Aug 2024).
- Esek Wheelock, born about 1770
- Seth Wheelock, born say 1773
- Calvin Wheelock, born 1776
- Luther Wheelock, born about 1779
- Hannah Wheelock
Notes:
Keziah was the daughter of Keziah Darling and John Hunt of Glocester, Rhode Island.1
Neither birth, marriage, nor death date has been found for Keziah. She was alive on 15 March 1781 when Daniel Wheelock referred to her in his will as "Keziah, my dearly beloved wife", and she was executor of his will which was probated on 15 Sep 1781. She inherited the house in Glocester from her husband.
In the 1782 Rhode Island census in Glocester there was a family "the Whelock", which should probably have been "the widow Wheelock." There was a female 22 to 50 years old, possibly Keziah, widow of Daniel Wheelock, Jr. Also in the household were three males under 16, and one female under 16, which would match the composition of the Daniel Wheelock, Jr. family if one of the sons had moved out.2
On 5 Aug 1789, Keziah Wheelock of Glocester, Rhode Island, widow, purchased about 37 acres in the southerly part of Uxbridge from Dorcas Albee of Uxbridge, widow. The land was abutted by by the Rhode Island border, and by "Daniel Wheelock land" [probably undivided land in Daniel Wheelock's estate].3
On 12 Dec 1790, Paul and Deborah Wheelock of Uxbridge [brother and sister-in-law of Daniel Wheelock, Jr.] quitclaimed to Keziah Wheelock of Glocester, Rhode Island, widow of Daniel Wheelock, Jr, late of Glocester, land in the southerly part of Uxbridge containing about 11 1/2 acres.4
On 4 May 1795, Keziah Wheelock and her son, Seth Wheelock, both of Glocester, sold about 11 acres property in the southerly part of Uxbridge to Israel Aldrich (of Uxbridge). The land was abutted by land owned by Keziah and Seth.
In a separate transaction on the same date, Keziah Wheelock sold about 16 3/4 acres of land to Israel Aldrich, abutting the parcel mentioned above.5
On 23 Dec 1815, Keziah Wheelock, widow woman of Burrillville [having been set aside from Glocester in 1806] sold just over 11 acres of woodland in the southern part of Uxbridge to Nahum Morse.6
On 5 March 1829, Keziah Wheelock of Mendon held an undivided fourth part of land in the southern part of Uxbridge in common with Seth Wheelock of Burrillville, Rhode Island - land that they had inherited from Daniel Wheelock, Jr. of Glocester, Rhode Island. On that date, Keziah petitioned the Court of Common Pleas in Worcester, Massachusetts, to make division of that land, and set aside one fourth part for her. On 3 Dec 1829, the petition was satisfied, and Keziah was given one fourth part of the properties she held in common with Seth Wheelock.7

- Olive Vivian Wheelock, born Jul 1883
Spouse: Laura F. Hunter
Marriage: about 1907
- 1910 Census, Brattleboro, Windham Co, VT
Notes:
"New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial", Cutter, Lewis Historical Publishing Company, 1914, has the following to say about Henry:
"His parents went to Gardner when he was two years old, and there he attended the public schools. He went to work on a farm at Northfield at the age of thirteen years and continued until 1877. He then went to Wendell, where his father had bought a farm, and worked with his father there until 1833. Returning to Gardner, he was employed in a chair factory until 1888, when he went to Dummerston, Vermont, to work in a carriage painting shop. Afterward he became a carrage painter at Dummerston on his own account. He also had charge of the property of his brother, Charles T. Wheelock. In 1906 he removed to Brattleboro, where he has since had a carriage painting shop on Flat Street. In politics he is a Republican. He is a member of Painters Union No. 123, of Brattleboro, and is at present its vice-president. He is a sergeant of the First Regiment Band, Vermont National Guard."
"Henry M. Wheelock married (first) Eliza A. Dodwell, of Gardner, and had one child, Olive Vivan..."
The 1900 Census for Dummerston, Windham Co, VT, shows Henry M. Wheelock living with his sister-in-law, Minnie O. Wheelock (no doubt, Minnie Ophelia Sargent, wife of Charles Wheelock), his nephew Justine Wheelock, and Helen M. Sergeant, a border.
Henry and Laura F. appear in the 1910 Census living on Canal St. in Brattleboro, Windham Co, Vermont.
