Winslow and Mary lived for a time in Calais, VT, before moving to Shipton, Richmond Co, Quebec sometime between 1805 and 1807. Winslow Pope apprenticed as a shipwright in Providence, RI, and later practiced the trade at Trois Rivieres, Quebec.¹

Winslow Pope's death date is recorded on his headstone in Castlebar Cemetery, Shipton, 17 Feb 1847, age 75y 7m, as transcribed at www.interment.com, in disagreement with his 1770 birth date.

In 1900 Benjamin and Grace were living in Norfolk, Madison County, Nebraska. They apparently divorced before 1908 when his wife married Frederick Carlson in Indiana. He is enumerated in 1910 census living in Santa Monica, California, age 39, theatre proprietor, with wife Dorothy, age 34, but no marriage record for the two has been found. In 1920 he was living with his sister, Frances W. Rosenheim in Los Angeles, married, but no spouse present. In 1930 he was again in Los Angeles, a guest at a hotel, no spouse present.
