In the 1860 Census, he (age 40) and Lucina (age 30) are located in Eaton, Wyoming Co, PA. Residing in the same household are Frederick Wheelock, age 12; Andrew Wheelock; age 10, and William Wheelock, age 1.

Augustus is enumerated in the 1870 Census in Overfield, Wyoming Co, PA, age 52; with Lucina, age 43; Franklin, age 10; Henry, age 7; and Charlie, age 1. The family is indexed under 'Whulick' in the Ancestry.com images.

Augustus probably died before 1880, because he does not appear in the census for that year. In 1880, his family was split up. His wife, Lucina (age 52), is living in the household of her eldest son, Frederick. His son, Henry (age 17) is a servant in the household of George Trauger; son Charles (age 11), is a servant in the household of George Gregory; and son Frank (age 20) is living in the household of his cousin, Charles Wheelock.

This is probably the Augustus Wheelock that enlisted 12 Oct 1861 in Company F, 53rd Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, recruited in Luzerne County.
