Salmon Wheelock

Spouse: Elizabeth Ball

  3. Benjamin Wheelock, born 5 Mar 1798, Rockingham, Windham, VT
  4. Betsy Wheelock, born 5 Apr 1800, Rockingham, Windham, VT

  9. Lucinda Wheelock, born Mar 1815, Rockingham, Windham, VT
  10. Hiram Wheelock, born 26 Mar 1817, Rockingham, Windham, VT

Notes:

Salmon is referred to as "Solomon" in DAR records.

Though no proof is yet found, Salmon may be the son of Abner Wheelock and Mary Brown of Leominster, MA. The clues are as follows:

1) Salmon was born in the right time frame, circa 1774.

2) The filing of marriage intention in Leominster suggests that he may have lived there. (Leominster Vital Records Intention Filed 23 Feb 1794.)

3) He lived in Rockingham, VT, and joined the church there on the same date (3 Oct 1795) as did Abner Wheelock and Jonathan Wheelock, who may also be children of Abner Wheelock and Mary Brown.

Another possibility is that he is the Samuel Wheelock, son of Jonathan Wheelock and Thankful Haskell baptized in Lancaster, 5 Apr 1772. The dates match, and the two families share similar names.
