Marcus Warren Waite, in "The Wheelock Family of Calais, VT", 1940, Driftwind Press, Montepelier, VT, has the following to say about Alberto:
"Enlisted from Millville, JO Daviess County, ILL., in Co. H. 96th Regt. He was captured at the battle of Chattanooga on Tuesday Sept. 22, 1863, and died in Andersonville prison May 10, 1864. Buried in the National Cemetery at Andersonville, GA (Grave 992)."
