The marriage between Daniel and Phebe is inferred by the Rhode Island Vital Records, which lists the deaths of several children of Daniel and Phebe, referring to her as Phebe C. Wheelock. Daniel, Phebe, and some of the listed children are buried together in the Centerville Methodist Cemetery, in West Warwick, RI.
"Wheelock Genealogy", by Carlyle Capron Wheelock and Winifred (Thomson) Gonseth lists the following additional children: Harriet Wheelock, d. Daniel, m. ____ Knox; Joseph Wheelock, s. of Daniel and Phebe (Merrill) Wheelock, understood to have died without issue; Charles Wheelock, son of Daniel and ____; Maria A. Wheelock, age 25, daughter of Daniel and Phebe A. Wheelock, married Harrison G. Otis, age 28, b. Montville, CT, at Providence, RI, 1 Dec 1856 (Providence VRs). Mrs. Elizabeth (Colwell) Young is cited as a source for some of these children.
The 1850 Census supports most of this, showing Harriet Knox, age 34, and Robert Knox, age 38 living in the same household with Daniel and Phebe Wheelock. Also living in the same household in Warwick, RI is Jane, age 37, Rebecca, age 32, Maria, age 19, Harriet Knox, age 2, and Daniel Wheelock, age 18. Living in a nearby household is Charles Wheelock, age 25, and Clarissa Wheelock, also age 25.
Daniel and Phebe are listed as members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, in East Greenwich, RI. (Source: "Vital Records of Rhode Island, 1636-1850", Providence, RI, Narragansett Historical Publishing Company, 1900, Vol XI, pg 513).
